Hungry Ghosts United is a meditation based addiction recovery society that uses deep meditation practice as one of the foundations of our daily recovery practice. In our groups we teach anyone who walks in the door how to meditate and end addiction. This is our first chance to offer our Hungry Ghosts United meditation practice in an extended retreat setting to everyone in recovery. Wether you are a member of HGU or are in traditional 12 step recovery, and want to learn how to meditate specifically for your recovery, you are invited.
With over thirty years of recovery and many years of teacher training and many years of assistant teaching residential silent retreats, Rachael Savage will be teaching this Hungry Ghosts United retreat. .
Extended meditation retreat conditions allow us to gain a deeper experience of mindfulness and the heart practices expanding our potential for our recovery. Our retreat schedule will include meditation instruction, sitting and walking meditations, dharma talks and opportunities to meet with the teacher.
Our forest retreat center for this retreat is located in Eatonville, WA near Mount Rainier National Park in a 3,000 acre Douglas Fir forest. 90 minutes from downtown Seattle and one hour from the Seattle-Tacoma airport. With trails throughout the old-growth forest and into a deep gorge with a series of waterfalls, there are many opportunities for mindful movement and contemplation.
Retreat Accommodations
Restored vintage cabins and dorms will be our accommodations. Cost for this retreat ranges from $475 for dorm lodging to $595 for limited private lodging. Pricing includes lodging, meals, taxes and all facilities costs. A deposit of 250$ will secure any lodging option. Balances will be due by February 10th, 2022..
